Just 2 of you for Christmas day

If it's just the two of you, how does your Christmas day go?

This is the first year DH and I will be spending it alone. We usually spend it with our families.

I was going to synchronise our dinners and facetime while we eat. We don't get any UK TV at the moment so probably won't get any decent films on.

Maybe I can find some cards or little games as stocking fillers, and we can go for a beach walk.

Just interested in how others pass the day.

If it was just DH and me there’d be finger foods, champagne, a roaring fire and lots of festive sex.

Sounds bloody brilliant actually.

If you want UK TV have a look at FilmOn. You will need to subscribe in order not to get the annoying adverts, but it has everything live - although time differences need to be taken into consideration, but you can record and watch at leisure.
We only ever did 1 Christmas at home with no visitors. Family rang. I did a typical British Christmas lunch for DH, not British. It was very relaxing and stress-free.
Out of the last 16 Christmases I have spent 14 alone at home. Doesn't bother me at all, in fact I quite enjoy it.

I would steal pinikarsedfly's idea...

Instead of trying to make it like other family Christmases I would go full on romantic indulgence, lots of candles, a lie in with breakfast in bed featuring champagne.

A luxurious dinner - steak or lobster etc with more champagne / wine.

I would get small presents and give them to dh throughout the day. An afternoon nap following some afternoon delight. And relish that feeling of it being just you and him together to reconnect lazily.

MY christmas will be NOTHING like this....but I can daydream Grin
