Is just hasn't risen there yet I would think

Is it true that if you are at the bottom of a well that you can see the stars? I remember my Dad telling me that when I was tiny.

Partimers · 16/12/2019 10:17

It has nothing to do with day and night OP! It’s to do with its orbit and the fact that it is a new moon.

Wombatstew · 16/12/2019 10:18

Just nipped outside and can confirm Moon is no where to be seen on this side of the world

PuppyMonkey · 16/12/2019 10:19

I can’t get my head round this one. Confused

Well yes it will be a moonless sky in Australia. Crescent moons are the opposite flipped left-right in the sky as well.
