Is it possible that silly shoes have given me a stress fracture?

I wore absolutely ridiculous shoes to the staff party on Friday. I had them on from 8 am until 11 at night. I think I can cope with a high heel, it was the narrow pointed toes that did for me.

I knew it was silly but I hadn't taken a spare pair with me so I had no choice on the day. Two of my toes still feel tender, three days later.

Is it possible I've caused actual damage to my foot?

I think (not a medic) that a stress fracture is a repetitive injury (ie its caused by repetitive stress on the foot) so I'd say it was unlikely from one occasion wearing silly shoes. Maybe your toes were just badly squashed and will be sore for a few days ( I think stress fracture pain is more in the actual foot rather than toes). But obviously go to a walk in/GP if it doesn't improve.
A long soak in warm water might help with the soreness.

Thanks kurri I think you're right. My toes feel slightly numb, as I've I've been kneeling or something. Toes can't really be treated anyway so it's just a wait until its better job.

Feel so stupid.
