Dark green wall in norgh-facing room?

I've just had a wood burning stove installed. Please have a look at the picture to get an idea. I'd like to paint the chimney breast and the walls either side in a very dark green (I think!).

The room has a huge north-facing window, so it's well-lit despite being north-facing. But I'm worried a green might make the room feel too cool, what do you think?

If you agree a very dark green could work, can you recommend a shade?

We have one from F and B called khaki (I think). It's a large north facing cold room but the green is very warm.

Thanks! Will check that shade. I'll also try and post my photo as it hadn't uploaded.

This is going to be the most unhelpful comment ever, and I know it was a typo, but 'norgh-facing' just conjured up a bizarre daydream of creatures called norghs, and I say if you want to please the norghs, then go with green. Norghs like green.

Not sure which direction it faces, but DD has just painted 3 walls of her living room in a very dark green. No woodburning stove, but it still looks very cosy!

I have my bedroom painted in Jewel Beetle by Little Greene Paint Company. It's a gorgeous rich shade of green.

Greens can be warm if you get the right tone.
Not a lounge, but I have a green N/ NE facing hallway which works well.
Accent colours/ neutrals and furnishings will make a difference too.

I’ve just done ours in Tea With Florence with is a Little Green paint. It’s gorgeous - a dark teal, greeny blue. It’s made the room look cosier but not smaller.

Thanks for your suggestions! Flux Khaki is too grey for the kind of thing I have in mind. JewelBeetle looks gorgeous but it's probably too "green". Tea with Florence looks perfect, though!

I can't upload a photo for some reason, but for reference, the walls are wallpapers in Lincrusta with a wood panelling effect. It's nicer than it sounds! This is a late Victorian house (I should have said that earlier).

Sammyquizz- do you think the colour would work in a north-facing room?

Sorry #TR888 only just saw this! Would look great in a north-facing room Smile
