Can I recommend a truly craptastic Christmas movie?

Santa's Girl on Netflix, starring the Tooth Fairy as Santa's love interest Grin

What about Klaus? Santa basically dies at the end Xmas Sad

BerwickLad · 15/12/2019 17:38

BBC 2019 election coverage. There's no snow, santa doesn't make an appearance and Hugh Grant doesn't end up as Prime Minister. Bunch of arse.

I watched Santa’s Girl the other day. It was craptastic and just what I was looking for in a cheesy Christmas movie.

"await further instructions" is a happy-go-lucky british sfamily xmas romp :)

(eta: on netflix)

darkriver19886 · 15/12/2019 17:58

Christmas Knight is just horrifying!

Moominfan · 15/12/2019 17:59

Last Christmas...Santa carries the entire show. Then it lurches to an all to predictable ending.

ScribblyGum · 15/12/2019 18:00

Thank you OP, I love a craptastic Christmas movie sounds perfect fodder for watching whilst wrapping.

Gingernaut · 15/12/2019 18:03

Call Me Claus starring Whoopi Goldberg and Nigel Hawthorne.

When she was a little girl, Lucy went to a store and unwittingly met the real Santa (Nigel Hawthorne), who was impressed when she gave off a magical glow when he put his hat on her head.

Now, Lucy (Whoopi Goldberg), who is a curmudgeonly producer for a shopping channel, has to hire an actor to play Santa.....

A Prince for Christmas: Royal baby.
Just fabulously crap. When Queen Amber was in labour the contractions conveniently stopped when she was asked a question, then carried on until she just kind of sneezed the six month old baby out.
Brilliant Crown Grin

It's not from this year, but A Christmas Inheritance on Netflix has kept me very entertained this December Grin

The Christmas Prince trilogy (also Netflix) has become one of my favourite things to watch this year! The 2nd (wedding) isn't as good, but 3 (the baby) is back on gloriously cheesy form.

ForalltheSaints · 15/12/2019 18:22

Last Christmas, judging by the reviews.

SunshineDays2019 · 15/12/2019 19:18

Journey back to Christmas. It was in channel 5 on Saturday afternoon. So predictable, such a tv film, ...I loved it!

FloridaNewbie · 15/12/2019 19:26

I enjoyed Klaus, the animation was beautiful and I liked how original the story was.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 15/12/2019 19:53

0blio, did you read this wonderful review of the Royal Baby movie? Patrick Freyne in the Irish Times is brilliant Smile

MrsDilligaf · 15/12/2019 20:01

The Christmas Prince!!

Oh my god it's so crap it's funny.

The whole Christmas Prince trilogy is dire but compelling. I feverishly look forward to the next installment. I wonder what will happen to them next year - A Royal Ill-Advised TV Interview perhaps?

Last Christmas is every bit as appalling as the reviews said. It's not even so good it's bad, it's just an embarrassing waste of its entire cast. Michelle Yeoh in particular looks ashamed to be involved throughout.

BercowsFestiveFlamingo · 15/12/2019 21:13

I loved Christmas Knight! Although the main characters didn't have any chemistry, the story was fun. The Christmas Calendar is on my list for watching this next week. I love cheesy Christmas films.

0blio · 16/12/2019 18:36

@MotherForkinShirtBalls that review was brilliant! Crown Grin

Horehound · 16/12/2019 18:40

@AravisQueenOfArchenland emmm Klaus was awesome, what you going on about?!

I also watched a Christmas knight and cheesey as it was, I quite liked it lol

AngelaScandal · 16/12/2019 18:46

@MotherForkinShirtBalls 😂

PollyParrotsCrackers · 16/12/2019 21:28

Alone for Christmas is absolutely terrible, we still watch it during the run up though Xmas Grin

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 16/12/2019 23:16

Anything at all on Channel 5 on a weekday, late afternoon, every day starting from October.
