Linda McCartney roast - tastes meaty?

I want something for me for Christmas dinner which is easy and not but roast, pastry covered or root vegetable based. I hate veggie food which is made to taste meaty - I dislike meat hence why I don't eat it.

So does this taste like beef? For reference I rarely eat any quorn fake meat stuff but do like a Linda McCartney burger. I generally get cauldron stuff if I want sausage/burger type stuff but I have seen nothing I fancy.

Well not remembering what meat tastes like I would still say this veers towards meaty than vegetably. If you like the LM burgers you will like this too. I do find that the LM recipes are more meaty and moist compared with Quorn.

Although for Christmas this year I am going with the Tesco mushroom lattice it's like a giant sausage roll.

Awww thanks. Know what you mean - no meat has passed these lips for 30 years (phnarr)

It's the pastry I can't manage anymore otherwise I'd like the sound of that Tesco thing

Would some sort of nut roast be suitable? I think the other would be too meaty

Fredy45 · 14/12/2019 15:13

Maybe to nut roast but I have a bit of a 'reaction' to some nuts - walnuts/Brazils etc. I get a bit itchy and sore tongue so tend to avoid. I may look around further
