What were Bolsover voters thinking? A really excellent constituency MP. One of the finest and most honest men ever. Gave his own salary to the miners FFS.

I know I can't believe this either. It's the biggest shock of the election.

I love skinner and watched his funniest moments on YouTube this morning to cheer myself up about it.

I think voters are under the illusion it was a presidency. Johnson or Corbyn.

We have the opposite situation in my constituency- a rubbish MP who fakes expenses and does nothing for local people but is voted in time and again as wears blue rosette.

The beast of bolsover...

ThisIsSanta · 13/12/2019 18:50

I cannot even begin to imagine how he is feeling today. Sad

During the miners strike he donated a year's salary to the fund for miners and their families. Worked so hard for his constituents for decades.

It's shameful.

As someone who lives in Dennis Skinnners constituency I can say that this must have been fixed because everyone around here voted for Dennis!

SellFridges · 15/12/2019 10:31

I grew up in his constituency. He was a fine MP, and extremely principled.

He was also too old for the job and unable to campaign. The constituency voted overwhelmingly for leave and in my opinion is a classic case of turkeys voting for Christmas.

Orcaaa · 15/12/2019 10:32

sell, you know Skinner was an advocate of leaving the EU, don’t you?
