Try and get to a NT place (have membership)
Walks
Homework
They will see their dad a couple of times.
See extended family
Try and see family friends

The Christmas break for me is the one when we don't try and fit any big days out in, for us it's about relaxing and spending time as a family. So walks, board games, playing with new toys and visiting close by family.

OceanSunFish · 15/12/2019 08:39

Friends coming over and us going to visit other friends.
The Tutankhamen exhibition in London with family.
Holiday jobs (sorting out uniform, PE kits, school shoes etc)

Going to Centre Parcs (sorry mumsnet). Mid-winter is the best time of the year to go because the outdoor pool after dark is awesome- all twinkly and steamy. Grin

Trip into Leeds for the Armouries
Cinema to see Jumanji
Other than that just pootling about building Lego, going for walks, and seeing family who are up to stay.

13 year old here, we are home from family on the 27th, walk to our local NT place for lunch, see the Northern Ballet, walk on the beach somewhere, possibly cinema which is a ten minute walk from home. That gives us plenty of time doing nothing as well!

PanicAndRun · 15/12/2019 10:35

Lots of nothing
Shopping for her bday presents
Cinema
Laser tag
Playing with new toys, board games ,hanging out
Visiting friends
Lots of nothing.

Whatever we feel like when the time comes, depending on weather and how we feel.

Cannot be doing with all this planning of holiday periods to the Nth degree Hmm

monstermissy · 15/12/2019 15:39

We are going to Centre Parcs... I've never been but booked in a whim as I hate the sluggish feeling of spending days indoors etc so dragging them off for some fresh air and swimming

CaptainCallisto · 15/12/2019 16:14

Having an idea of a few things you might like to do over a two week period isn't exactly planning to the nth degree is it?

At some point in the period DS1 has asked if we can go to a museum, DS2 has asked if we can go to the cinema, and I know my parents will be up for the second week so we'll need to spend some time with them. No idea what we'll do on which day, whether we'll decide to do some other bits, or whether the whole holiday will be spent indoors because it's pissing with rain.

Nearer the time we will have firmer plans in place because DS1 has ASD and likes to have a schedule. We've also got to work around DH's shift patterns. Sometimes people can't just fly by the seat of their pants...

Oblomov19 · 15/12/2019 16:15

Ds1 revising.
Ds2 playing x box mostly, I suspect!

happytimesarecoming · 15/12/2019 19:15
