Hi, just wondering if anyone knows if next have their furniture on sale in the new year?

Dh and i have our eye on. Some furniture but not sure if it’s worth waiting? We didn’t do Black Friday for various reasons, not actually sure if they had any offers on then anyway

They usually sell off the instore stuff just before Christmas. We got our sofa Christmas Eve, was 625 supposed to be over a grand.

My local has a furniture sale on now. Might be worth going in store.

I really wouldn't bother.

I ordered a bed from Next about a month ago.

It came packaged with enough huge pieces of scrap MDF that I could have made myself a second bed. And that's before you even factor in the same amount again in polystyrene and 6 huge cardboard boxes. I'm still trying to get rid of it all now. My back garden looked like a tip immediately afterwards and i sent Next photos to complain. They started out by saying they were 'sorry' and ended up by saying "customers are responsible for disposing of our packaging". I asked them to escalate but they simply ignored me.Sad

Not surprisingly, i'm no longer one of their customers.

Good to know about in store, we’ll check it out.

Rufflecrow, that’s properly shit! If you could be arsed it might be worth delivering it all to the doorstep of your nearest next store... or to be less petty raise it on Twitter with them. Sometimes the public eye on things can lubricate the wheels of action

I wouldn’t bother. We came into some money recently and decided to go up in the world and buy some Next furniture instead of our normal IKEA. We ordered a divan bed with drawers and two bedside lockers.

When the bed came it had over 360 separate pieces! My DH is a whizz at self assembly furniture normally but this defeated him. In the end we had to hire a carpenter and his apprentice to finish it. There were several bolts missing. Parts of the trim needed glueing down and the drawers needed extra supports because they were so flimsy. The lockers were even worse. The drilled holes were too big so if you tried to move them they fell apart like Michael Crawford shed. In the end we gave them to our SIL who got them to stay upright with the judicious use of a tube of No More Nails.

I agree

Next furniture looks lovely but it’s such cheap crap.

I have a dining table (£800)

And a tv cabinet (£450)

And both were really cheaply made (it scratch the lovely wood and see the cheap stuff underneath/ handles fall off easy etc)

Oh dear.... back to the drawing board then!
