Anyone had any dealings with Locker, Hall & Thornton?
My Mondaine watch is under a two year warranty. It stopped working, so I took it to a local jeweller to have the battery changed. Local jeweller says battery is fine, the watch is faulty. So I sent the watch under warranty to their service centre which is Locker, Hall & Thornton.
LH&T have said that my "untrained" jeweller has damaged the watch extensively, and want £65 to repair, as my warranty is void because I should have returned the watch to them to have the battery changed (even though a battery is not a warrantable item).
I am gutted. I have doubts that such extensive damage could have taken place when changing a battery, and can't prove otherwise now that the watch is out of my possession. Mondaine doesn't seem interested either.
I have no redress do I?
