Will I kill my family if I feed them these sausages?

I bought sausages yesterday. I just found them still lurking in the bottom of my shopping bag instead of in the fridge. They are in a sealed Tupperware container but have had 26 hours out of the fridge in an averagely heated kitchen.

They are really tasty sausages if that makes any difference to your opinion.

I would not be eating those, no

TammyKat · 08/12/2019 13:18

I wouldn’t eat them personally

justinhawkinsnavalfluff · 08/12/2019 13:18

I wouldn't go there.

No way, think of the bacteria that has been forming in that time 🤢

It's a no from me sorry! I hate food waste too but just wouldn't risk that.

TheStaleBiscuitofDoom · 08/12/2019 13:19

There's not a chance in hell that I'd eat them.

Lulualla · 08/12/2019 13:20

I'm really chilled out about used by dates and all that stuff but unrefrigerated meat would just be a no from me

sassafras123 · 08/12/2019 13:21

Definately a no.

Gottheteeshirtandlostit · 08/12/2019 13:21

Okay dokes. I thought as much. Thanks for the speedy answers. into the bin they go.

Absolutely not and I'm really lax about things like this!

ClashCityRocker · 08/12/2019 13:22

Wouldn't risk it with pork sausages.

lifeisgoodagain · 08/12/2019 13:27

I would, just cook through thoroughly but I'm pretty liberal with food hygiene ... but never had an issue, cast iron stomach!

Gottheteeshirtandlostit · 08/12/2019 13:30

I've sneaked them into the bottom of the food waste bin. Hoping DH won't spot them. If he'd left 12 lovely sausages overnight in a shopping bag I'd have chewed his ear off.

I'd eat them. /

GingleJangleScarecrow · 08/12/2019 13:55

I would probably eat them.
Why are they in a tupperware container?

turkeyontheplate · 08/12/2019 13:57

I'd eat them

Aquamarine1029 · 08/12/2019 13:57

Yes, in the bin they go. Last year I accidently left TWO whole chickens in the car, not discovered until the next day. Gag. I was so angry with myself for wasting food like that.

Gottheteeshirtandlostit · 08/12/2019 14:03

GingleJangle - they are in a Tupperware container cause I am saving the world by not buying single use plastic. Halo So I get my meat (and cheese, and fish) at the counter and have it packed into my own containers. At first everyone thought I was barking but now Sainsbury's and my local butcher both have signs up inviting everyone to do the same.

I could probably save the world more effectively by not buying meat at all, but we've all got our limits. Grin

Lulualla · 08/12/2019 14:04

That's how I get my meat and fish etc. Everyone at the butcher's here does it. Except the old people! They get the plastic wrap.
