Period after 3 years of the menopause?

I'm 50 and had my last period nearly 3 ago after a few years of them being infrequent
I've had an easy menopause with no symptoms apart from the occasional hot flush.
For the last week I've had sore breasts like I used to get the week before my period started. Today I am having what looks and feels like a period. The sore breasts have also gone.
I will be going to the doctors but has anyone else experienced this? I'm presuming from the 'pre menstrual' symptoms the bleeding has a hormonal cause.

It could be hormonal or, as it was in my case and even a woman of 70 that I met in the clinic, something like a polyp.

There can be other causes as well.

Please see your GP, any post menopause bleeding needs to be investigated.
Hopefully it's not anything serious but you should definitely have it checked out.
