Does anyone live Martlesham Heath way?

Would you recommend? My husband has a position at the hospital and we’re relocating, I’ve seen a lovely house I want to view but would like to know what the area is like for children etc

Used to live up that way a number of years ago. Martlesham Heath is a lovely area and a real mix of houses. BT, The hospital and the police hq are big employers in the area. Access to great countryside and coast is a bonus. Ipswich itself is a bit grim though.

Martlesham and that side of Ipswich has had a fair amount of building over the last 20-30 years, and is ok. If you have a bit more to spend, Woodbridge is nicer and not too far out. There are lots of nice villages that side as well, depending on what facilities you need.

Hoping to cut DHs commute to nothing really so as close to the hospital as possible (will also need to go to Colchester quite frequently)

We’re coming from a little village and I’m looking forward to being somewhere more lively, but not as lively as Ipswich!
