What are you giving your 7 year old DD?

I'm feeling a bit guilty that all of her gifts are "boy" toys and mainly black... Think Ninjago style. I know it's what she wants, but I'm after some ideas for sparkly balance.

If it’s what she wants, why feel guilty? Lots of DD1’s (also 7) presents are more unisex this year as they were what she asked for, although we’ve also got her some Lego friends as that is the range she likes. I wouldn’t necessarily get something for the sake of it. Only if you know it’s going to be used.

Mine likes Smiggle stuff so I've bought her the lunch bag, lunch box, bottle, rucksack and pencil case.
They have some lovely designs, some are very pink but they do more unisex too.

Does she like sparkly stuff?

Yes, she does! She flirts between being all pink and purple, sparkly, cute fluffy animals and all in black ninja fighting mode Confused

That should say "flits". A word my autocorrect claims not to know Hmm

Good for her! :o

I agree Smiggle has some gorgeous things.

Also, there are loads of stuff like make your own bath bombs/perfume sets on amazon.

CactusAndCacti · 06/12/2019 21:44

Lego friends and the Robo Chameleon.

Then just things like pens and pencils, shopkins and craft

YouCantBeSadHoldingACupcake · 06/12/2019 21:51

My 7 year old just wants lol dolls

CactusAndCacti · 06/12/2019 21:58

By some unknown reason my dd has never got into LOL dolls, I have no idea how I have managed to dodge that bullet.

Hadenoughofitall441 · 06/12/2019 23:07

My 7 year old just wants anything to do with l.o.l dolls and frozen so I’ve got endless options

RevengeOfTheReindeer · 07/12/2019 07:23

My DD has absolutely no interest in dolls fortunately. Glenda how have I never heard of smiggle before? There are some truly hideous things there that she would love!

loads of stuff like make your own bath bombs/perfume sets on amazon.
Now that sounds like a gift idea for a child who doesn't live in my house Grin

DD is 8 and getting a bike. Her preference is a red one.

She’s also getting a stocking full of Harry Potter stuff.

Nothing particularly girly, I don’t thing she’d care even though she likes to play with dolls and does ballet.

Perhaps incorporate the sparkle into the wrapping?

Rockbird · 07/12/2019 07:41

A Fitbit Ace 2, beds and bedding for her beloved American girl dolls, a rainbowcorn, some Polly pockets, some Harry Potter odds and sods, cant remember what else. Usual kid tat that she'll love basically. Xmas Grin

For my 6yo (nearly 7)
Explorers kit- this is what she's asked for.
Books- Dogman, Female Explorers Atlas, Go Wild in the Woods, Forgotten Fairytales of Brave girls
Dinosaur skeleton to build

In her stocking- Frozen bits, dinosaur excavation kit, Beaver torch, blanket badges, bath bomb, scented pencils.

8yo- Harry Potter Cluedo, other HP stuff
Books- Prisoner of Azkaban illustrated. Latest Hotel Flamingo. Rainbow Fairies.

Need to think on her stocking.

We've got what they asked for. Both would be considered 'tomboys' when I was young... But they've also asked for Elsa and Anna costumes (grandparents got these).
