No idea what my phone number is

I bought a new phone yesterday and a giff gaff sim card

In settings, it says "number unknown"

I downloaded an app that can read my SIM details and in the app under the section 'where is my number' it says, "your carrier stores your line number on their central system not the sim"

I have tried youtube to no avail

Does anyone know how I can find out my number

What kind of phone do you have?

Can you call somebody so your number comes up on their phone? That might work.

have you activated your sim card? instructions how to do it here

Have you logged into giffgaff? It shows you on the main page once you have logged in

Googling also says you can text 'number' to 2020

Yes I have followed the instructions to activate my sim.

I tried calling someone and it doesn't display my number on their phone, it says "unknown number"

Maybe takes time to update. Have you tried the text?
