Can we have a thread to discuss things that we feel we are not doing so well with and plan to do better in 2020?
My list would be:

  1. Meet up with friends more
  2. See my lovely mum, dad and sister more
  3. Find something that I enjoy doing (hobby, activity) that gives me some headspace
  4. To spend more time with my pre-teen daughter doing things, rather than just hanging out
  5. To sort out the family finances so we can enjoy some weekend breaks

  1. Actually trying to take control of my life rather than ricocheting between inspiration and desperation.
  2. Taking more formal exercise.
  3. Buying more sensible clothes!

  1. Come out of my shell more often, both in private and professional life. I’m one step away from a serious promotion (hopefully!) and the only thing holding me back is...me. I’m too easily intimidated and really easily talked over, despite being fairly knowledgeable and good at my job.
  2. Take more control over my finances.
  3. Take more care of ME. Between work, family life and everything else, I sometimes forget who I am.

This is the year I am going to improve my grammar and write more.
I need to improve my health by introducing more fruit and vegetables.
Continue to work on my mental health.

  1. Improve my diet, more fruit, cooking from fresh.
  2. Exercise more, take up swimming again, go rambling with DH and DS.
  3. Work on my finances.

Following my heart.

Improve my diet, get regular exercise. Cook more, drink less. Be more on top of housework. Stress less. The usual laundry list really. But I'm turning 39 next year and I want to have another baby the year after if possible so the health and diet stuff is really important.

  1. See more of my friends.
  2. Make use of the diary I get bought every year.
  3. Find a job where I get on with the people, I truly love my current job, really don't fit in with the team though.
  4. Read more, I've always been a huge bookworm, but this past few years I've not read half as much as I used to.

  1. taking rest days from running and doing other exercise instead
  2. keeping away from the foods I know aren't good for me: sugar, dairy, bread, alcohol
  3. I'm going to try to work smarter: I went back to work in Nov after 4.5years and the last month has been absolute chaos. I am determined to set aside one day for planning/prep and all my admin rather thAn constantly having a 30 point to-do list.
  4. sleep. I must get more sleep in 2020

Life. I really sucked at it this year.

woogal · 06/12/2019 21:34

Saying no

megletthesecond · 06/12/2019 21:35

Budgeting.

Do more. Travel, go to gigs, weekends away. My financial situation is looking to improve over the next 6 months so I want to start enjoying it.

Also need to lose a stone at least, I am a bridesmaid next year and want to look as slinky as possible in the dress.

Ah great, some responses 😀
I thought the thread had died on it's arse 🤣
Yeah, just better at life in general would cover quite a few things for me!
