Does anyone have a city mini pushchair! the straps are too tight!

DD is only 18m old and she is a bit petite and quite dainty. I bought the city mini GT thinking it would last be till she's a full grown toddler but tbh I am so frustrated with it and feel like getting rid of it.

The straps feel really tight and awkward around her shoulders. I have to really pull them down so I can clip it all into place. It's a nightmare. Ive put it on the highest slot setting but nothing seems to help. Is this how it is or am I doing something wrong.

Another bug bear is how the straps just come off when I'm trying to clip it in. The 2 plastic things are loose and come undone so easily. I hate this pushchair!!!

I have this pushchair and I love it! It's the best!

I have to say that I never found the shoulder straps right but I do find them unnecessary so actually I just removed them and I only use the waist straps. Could this help?

tight, I never found them to be tight.

I've not had a problem with the straps but doesn't the metal bar at the back of the basket do your head in? Basket is easily big enough for my changing bag but I can't get it in the bloody basket because of the metal bar. Badly thought out.

I too loved this pushchair and used it until my son was about 4.

Feels like a distant memory, but never had problems with the straps. Why don't you contact them and ask for advice as you shouldn't be having a problem. They are UK based (North West), so I'm sure you'll get the help you need.

It must be just me then. There must be something I'm doing wrong!

I had this. The straps have a kind of double length to them. Someone had to show me a picture of what they meant before I got it! Mess about with loosening them at the top and the bottom on the buckle - there’s a kind of two length strap.

GorgeousLadyofWrestling · 05/12/2019 15:21

I’ll be with my buggy soon - I’ll try to get you a pic. Suffice to say, there’s a double length in them that isn’t obvious and when you get it, you’ll have loads of slack.

GorgeousLadyofWrestling · 05/12/2019 15:31

Can you see that there’s two lots of length one under the other, to then use as slack.

I’ve used baby joggers for years
Isn’t the highest strap clip on bit for the biggest child?
Use the lowest of the 4 settings for smaller child ?

WonkyDonk87 · 05/12/2019 16:36

@cupoftea84 I shove my stuff in the basket from the sides - much easier!

LoadsaBlusher · 05/12/2019 17:33

Yip I put stuff in from the sides too - can fit my DC school rucksacks in that way

Have you opened the back section and removed the hard board panel? You can re thread the straps to a higher position. Sorry I can't send a photo as I don't have mine anymore

Yes
Like a car seat
There are adjustments available behind the backrest of the seat on most pushchairs
