Places to eat in York

Can anyone please recommend places to eat in York (for dinner not lunch) that have good veggie selections and are reasonably priced?
Three children aged 4, 11, 12 who don't eat pizza 🙄 and one grandma who is 80 and likes her food plain boring but will eat pizza and pasta.
A nice pub perhaps? Nothing fancy, just nice.

Carluccio’s is always a good bet. The kids menu is two courses for less than £7, and a starter and drink are free of charge! Yes, it’s Italian but they have a vast choice of dishes that aren’t pizza.
There are two Slug and Lettuce restaurants in York and they are both very popular with families. I particularly like the booths overlooking the river in the Low Ousegate restaurant. On a Monday they have a ‘half-price food’ promotion at the Back Swinegate location which is excellent value.
Joe’s Kitchen is a light and modern restaurant. It has a great kids menu and a fantastic assortment of board games to keep the kids busy. There’s something on the menu to please everyone, from sausages and mash to curry or risotto.
