Looking to take my 9 and almost 8 year old to theatre and deciding what show.

Lion king? Wicked or.... something else, school of rock? Mary poppins?

What was your preference?

Lion king - amazing
School of rock - shit

Mathilda?

Lion King and Mary Poppins are both really magical for kids. I personally feel they’d need to be a little bit older to really enjoy Wicked, but if they’ve watched the Wizard of Oz and like the story that’s also a good choice!

Matilda is utterly brilliant for kids and grown ups Wink

Lion King every time. Breathtaking.

My 9 year old loves school of rock, he's seen it 3 times and would happily see it over and over! Lion king was good, but think you've got to be in the stalls to really enjoy it (we had cheap seats in the gods). My 9&7 year olds loved it tho. Not seen wicked. My 7yr old dd really wants to see Six, and &juliet looks good too. Comedy about a bank robbery or play that goes wrong are good. Not seen Matilda yet. Mary Poppins is meant to be great.

It’s between lion king and lion the witch and wardrobe

Dilemma!

We saw the lion king and school of rock last year.
The lion king was visually amazing but the singing was...bad. I felt awful saying it esp for the kids roles but honestly I had heard better in some school plays.

However the school of rock was fabulous. And they all played their own instruments too. In actual awe of the talent.

Hoping to see Matilda and poss the play that goes wrong soon. But may squeeze in a return to school of rock as we loved it so much

We have seen the lion king, school of rock and Matilda. Kids are 6 and 9. We all agree that school of rock was the best, followed by Matilda.
