Pregnant on the Mirena coil - what next?!

Hi!

I’ve recently done 3 home tests that have all come up positive. I’m seeing my doctor this afternoon for confirmation because I’ve had the Mirena coil for 18 months.

It had displaced earlier this year but was put back during a laparoscopy and cyst removal.

My partner and I have recent gone through a rough patch. He’s left but was very controlling and is insisting he’s there at appointments but I don’t want him there without an IDVAS rep. As it stands I’ll be going on my own.
What can I expect, please? I’m having no pain or bleeding and know they’ll do another test this afternoon but then what? The internet seems to be full of horror stories!

Had anyone experienced this? Please help! X

They will want to remove it as it can be detrimental to the pregnancy.

It will get removed as increases chance of problems in pregnancy, chances are your doctor won’t do much but will refer you to local hospital and pregnancy unit there to do it

How long does that take? The referral I mean?
