Not wanting to poke around the boiler but:
DM, council house, has been given a boiler for gas central heating and hot water . Also has a hot water tank . And various magnetic filters ... council have talked to me very briefly about how to correct loss of pressure and which valves to open and other basic maintenance but I’m not good at all with technical stuff .
Shower is electric, all other hot water comes from tank .
Having a shower this morning - DM runs hot water downstairs, shower goes freezing cold. When she turns tap off, shower warms up again .
I’ve had that before when all hot water inc shower comes from tank but shower is meant to be on a separate system .
Also having problems with ththe taps eg if you run two taps together (hot and cold) the hot stops working properly , reduces to a trickle .
Boiler says the pressure is at 2 and ‘normal’ and temperature is 37 degrees . I’ve no idea what’s OK but assuming that’s all fine and normal enough .
Is this just standard with gas CH/hot water or is it an issue I need to ring the council about? Can live with it to some extent but seems v inconvenient!
