Has anyone's candidate ever been kicked out the party?

So, my local SNP candidate was just kicked out the party. SNP do really well here and he had a good chance of winning. He's still standing as an independent I think. So my question is, what happens if he wins? Will it still say SNP on the ballot? If so it seems like people who haven't heard about it will still vote for him when they otherwise wouldnt. Would he have anything to do with the SNP? What if there's a potential coalition?

Has this happened to anyone else before and if so, what happened?

Anyone? I'm leading towards labour but I know scottish labour are basically dead. I think the no-longer-SNP candidate will get in regardless.

I think he'd have to stand as an independent and if he won then he would be an independent MP.

I'm in the constituency where Jared O'Mara was MP but I don't think he's standing again. Labour have put up another candidtate.

If your canditate was kicked out for maybe disagreeing with the party, (like those Tories who voted against Boris Johnson) then he might still be a good MP who works hard for his constuency so you could still vote for him in clear conscience. If he was a low life racist, mysogynist scum bag then I wouldn't vote for him, but it doesn't help if you don't know who else to vote for!
