Low talkers on phone at office

I sit close to a woman at work that makes personal calls and speaks at an extremely low volume. I’m not bothered by the calls, whatever, but I’m wondering how any one can possibly hear her on the other end, and if I’m honest how I myself can achieve this when I don’t want anyone to hear my business!

I’ve run across this only once before, right when I started working in an office, years ago. Again, I sat right next to a woman that was making personal calls. She did however swivel her back to me, my current low talker doesn’t even do that! When I try this the person on the other end of the line always tells me they can’t hear a thing. How can some people sit right next to you talking on the phone and you can’t hear them at all but the other caller can? Any tips?!

Pass her over a leaflet in front of the team all about genital warts/smelly feet/dandruff/bad farts and announce loudly that ‘these are for you, your friend will be in touch later to discuss delivery of the hemmoroid cream’

But i’m evil lol 😂

It can be very irritating when someone speaks so quietly on the phone that a person nearby can’t quite overhear them.
You should tell her this.😁

Can she have a word with Dave* who sits opposite me. I can hear from my car parked 3 streets away, he’s that loud. And he has the volume turned up so I can here what the other person is saying as well.

*not his real name.

I’d find all that whispering a bit annoying tbh. Mainly because I’m a nosey cow.
