Coats in car seats- is this safe?

Ok, so I get that you wouldn't put a child in a puffer jacket in a car seat, but would the other coat pictured be ok? I have a 4 year old who becomes very difficult when I try to remove his coat before getting in the car. A blanket just won't do. Surely he'd be ok in a more fitted coat in his car seat??

Just unbutton the coat & keep the temperature in the car cool. Should be fine.

I read an article, that I now cant find, which said even adults shouldnt wear outdoor clothing with a seatbelt. So with that theory, no, he shouldnt be in that with a coat on. My DC's dont wear coats in the car.

See, I recall reading something that says adults are ok wearing coats due to their size and seatbelt placement, which doesn’t apply to kids even using the belt with a 2/3 because their size makes too much difference in the physics of a crash. Helpfully can’t remember where I think I saw that, though...!

www.consumerreports.org/car-seats/the-dangers-of-winter-coats-and-car-seats/ This shows you how to check whether a coat is too bulky to be safe.
