Anyone know anything about removing smells? Kerosene?

We have bought a new house with oil heating and while awaiting getting the keys the boiler was replaced (it broke). It would seem the boiler person has spilled kerosene in the boiler cupboard and subsequently there is a strong smell of fuel. It’s near where we eat!

We laid some flooring in the cupboard after trying to neutralise with bicarbonate and white vinegar (separately) as we thought it would stop the smell a bit but it remains honking!

Any advice?

suggestions on line

cover area with cat litter or similar absorbent and then get rid

bowls of vinegar and also open bags of charcoal are recommended

also coffee ( from ground coffee ) poured onto paper plates

to be honest I would contact the company that supply the fuel or the firm that repaired the boiler and ask if they can supply a specialist product ( the internet suggests there is such a thing )
