Perfume, some nice moisturiser and a calendar. Which I need to order today. Thanks for the heads up!!

GiveHerHellFromUs · 26/11/2019 07:31

I've got my mom pyjamas and a smellies gift set - I always make a massive effort and she doesn't bother so given up.

SM is getting an amazon voucher (all she ever asks for!) and a good hamper.

What kind of calendar do you need? Personalised?

EleanorReally · 26/11/2019 07:33

DM is getting a book set she’s asked for, a calendar, some florentines and a framed school photo of DS. I might try and think of something else too.
DMIL asked for place mats and napkins, she’s also getting liquorice allsorts, a diary, a calendar and a framed photo of DS.

a bracelet from tx maxx looks a lot more expensive than it is, and a heat wrap as. she has a bad hip / back

OhWellThatsJustGreat · 26/11/2019 07:37

Ohh I love the calendar idea, do you do personalised ones?
We're not so flush this Christmas due to mat leave.
Both dm and mil are getting:
Photo Collage of DC and dog
A children's storybook to read to dc
A gift set of something undetermined.

Lipperfromchipper · 26/11/2019 07:39

DM is getting some earrings from me and bath bombs from the dc.
DF I haven’t decided yet...
DH doesn’t want a big gift so I’m doing him up a stocking.
The only other ppl I buy for are my nieces and nephews x 9

EleanorReally · 26/11/2019 07:39

Bought a pair of slippers and a book so far.

My DD(5) pointed out a scarf recently in a shop and said "ooh Nan would love that" I looked and she was right, definitely perfect for her. So i'm going back for that to wrap up from DD.

MarleneandBoycie · 26/11/2019 07:42

I might get her what she got me; fuck all. Luckily I am not seeing her this Xmas. (I will probably see her just after and get her something really thoughtful, only for her to fucking complain, ugh, fucking families 😂)

MarleneandBoycie · 26/11/2019 07:44

Sorry OP, that was not helpful! My lovely daughter gets me gin, candles, perfume and poetry or art books. Would they work?

EleanorReally · 26/11/2019 08:00

A scarf is a good idea

@OhWellThatsJustGreat have a google for personalised calendars, there’s loads of different ones to choose from and they’re easy to do, I do mine on my phone! There’s quite a lot of special offers on at the moment, mine usually work out about £10-12.

OhWellThatsJustGreat · 26/11/2019 11:02

@QuestionableMushroom thank you!!!

CMOTDibbler · 26/11/2019 11:11

I'm bidding on a single button music player for my mum at the moment. No idea if she'll like it (she has dementia), but dad will like the thought.

Dad is getting his usual Andre Rieu DVD and box of cherry liqueur chocolates

No idea what DH is getting his parents

housewifeoflittleitaly · 26/11/2019 11:17

God knows my own mother is a hoarder and I feel like nothing is appreciated as it guests lost in all the junk.

Mil is so hard to buy for because shes very fussy and had 9 kids so she’s gets loads of very expensive presents every year. Anything I’ve bought in the past I’ve never seen again!

Thankfully the fathers are much easier and very appreciative. They gets clocks/radios/pens/vouchers to favourite show.

LilyJade · 26/11/2019 11:36

I've got my mum the Nadiya Hussein autobiography.

Nottobesoldseparately · 26/11/2019 12:05

My mum is getting a magnifying glass, hopefully a really pretty and ornate one if TK Maxx does me proud.
She's already got a brooch. To be fair tho, she is really easy to buy for. I know exactly what she will and won't like so I don't worry about getting her presents.

My dad has a book on rugby and he will also get a box of jelly babies. He doesn't want anything so ideally he'd prefer not to get a present, but he reads and he eats jelly babies so they don't count!!

My MIL is difficult to buy for, because whatever we get is never as good as what SIL gets, despite our presents actually being better! I might get her a magnifying glass too actually.

My brother gets socks every year. It's a tradition that we are both happy to continue. I don't need to think and he knows he's getting some decent socks.

I'm getting my SIL an embossed rolling pin. She's massively into her baking at the moment so I'm hoping she likes it.

DH's sister has had hers already which DH sorted. Something practical for her house I think which was a joint birthday present as it was expensive (her request) but I will get her something to unwrap.
