I will be 49 next year and aware I’m speeding towards my 50’s. 40’s have been my fastest decade!

Been reflecting on things I wish I had done/not done/done better etc and wondering if you are older and likely wiser, what advise and tips would you give your late 40’s self?

I’m more receptive these days! 😉

Thanks

In your late 50s you will look back at photos taken of you in your late 40s - and be astonished at how young and pretty you looked then.

Re-connect with old friends. It’s dreadfully trite but horribly true that ‘the older you get the more you need the company of people who knew you when you were young.’

By your 50s you may find it helpful to identify role models, even if you didn’t need them in the past. (Mine are all over 75, zipping around Oxford on bikes, with long grey pigtails flying behind them.)

Enjoy the energy you have before the menopause. Does not mean I’m totally over the hill but everything is more of an effort and if you want to maintain weight. Please note I said maintain not lose enjoy your last few years of being able to eat more.
