Would you let a sensible 6 year old stay one with a 13 year old, while you popped out 20 mins ?

Yes I would. I would let a responsible 13 yo babysit a much younger child too

DD who’s just 14 babysat DD who is nearly 5 for most of the day not long ago.
Grandparents five minutes away, DD is amazingly mature and has a cracking relationship with her siblings especially DD5.
She can do first aid and spent the day playing, watching films and took her little sister to a local cafe for lunch before visiting her Nan with her.
Small DD holds hands walking outside and probably listens to her big siblings better than she does us!

We paid her generously and gave the girls treat money.

All our kids (apart from the youngest obviously) have been given tiny bits of responsibility incrementally and been left on their own for small amounts of time from being about ten.
And, of course, it depends on the individual children but YANBU
