How was your little one after the flu nasal spray?

DS is nearly 3 - I've read lots of people experience side effects after the nasal spray so want to book it for a day that I can look after him properly if he needs it

Did your little one have any difficulties and, if so, how long did they last?

Thank you

Mine have had it for a few years on the trot. Worst thing they have had is a bit of a runny nose afterwards.

LadyR77 · 25/11/2019 01:46

DS (6.5) has had it several years running now and has always been completely fine.

ShadowSuperNova · 25/11/2019 01:53

My 2 yr old had the flu nasal spray at the beginning of last week and he was fine afterwards.

Nothing worse than a bit of a runny nose.

Fine. You'd never even know he'd had it.

fartingrainbows · 25/11/2019 02:13

Ds is 7, had it every year and only known about it because school sent a letter home. No after effects at all.

mindutopia · 25/11/2019 06:58

Mine has had it for 5 years now. She’s never had any side effects at all. Usually the worst bir is a sore arm, but obviously that isn’t an issue with the nasal spray. I wouldn’t overthink it. The sooner the better as it takes 2 weeks to start working and flu season is already in full swing.

TwentyOneSloths · 25/11/2019 07:00

My 2 have never had any side effects either.

user1480880826 · 25/11/2019 07:00

No side effects. This is the first year he’s had it.

Elyat · 25/11/2019 07:01

2yr old and 4yr old both had it recently. Zero side effects for either of them.

ByeGermsByeWorries · 25/11/2019 07:03

My son had it last Friday and didn't have any side effects :)

cocomelon23 · 25/11/2019 07:08

My ds has had no side effects ever. I think you're overthinking this.

happypotamus · 25/11/2019 07:22

No, they are 5 and 8 and have had it every year with no problems. I also have a flu jab every year at work and don't feel ill afterwards apart from a sore arm.

Yellredder · 25/11/2019 07:24

Mine's never had any effects in previous years, but did this year and was off school for a day. Felt nauseated, kept falling asleep, headache and no appetite, bit of a temperature.

TheElfFellOffTheShelf · 25/11/2019 07:25

Previous years they've shown no symptoms at all. This year dc1 was sick that afternoon but I don't know if that was just a coincidence. Dc2 was absolutely fine.

Haggisfish · 25/11/2019 07:29

Dc are 9 and 7. Been fine every other year apart from runny nose but this years strain must be a nasty one as they have both had rather a heavy cold and cough after. Still not worthy of a day off for us though.

BendingSpoons · 25/11/2019 07:31

DD had it this year and last and was fine both times. I think that sometimes children get an unrelated cold and people think it was the spray.

TheVanguardSix · 25/11/2019 07:33

I've never noticed when mine have had theirs, apart from this year. DC3 was a bit lethargic and a bit 'under' the evening of the day he'd had it and spiked a fever in the night. I kept him home the next day. He had mild but noticeable side effects this year.

AvocadoLovingMamaOfOne · 25/11/2019 07:33

Ds is 2 and had it for the first time 2 weeks ago. Completely fine, wouldnt even know he'd had it.

partysong · 25/11/2019 08:29

Thank you so much everyone so worse case scenario he will need me the day of the spray and the day after

Thank you
