Any police around who could advise?

A week ago I was assaulted, I know the person who did it and reported to the police.

They came and took a statement from me and put a warrant out for their arrest. However I haven’t heard anything since.

This person is hardly ever at their home address, so what happens if they just aren’t there when the police come around? Do they just keep trying? The police officer I was dealing with said not to expect many updates so I don’t really want to keep hassling them!

Thank you

Well if he gets stopped for anything else and his name and details are checked then this will be flagged and he’ll be arrested.

They will keep looking. If he’s driving and he’s pinged by an ANPR camera, then there may be a pursuit.

They should update you when they know something. The officer that will be dealing with it will have a lot of other crimes to deal with on their workload so I expect they will make efforts to find the person who assaulted you, but that won’t be all they are doing, it might take a bit of time but I am sure they will eventually be able to find the person. It will make it harder that the suspect is hardly ever home. But hopefully the officer will get lucky and will find them at home.

It’s a female not a male and she doesn’t drive so no ANPR to ping.

Thanks for the advice

Isn't it odd people automatically just to thinking it was a man? Genuine thought, quite sad really but I probably would have been that person without reading OP's reply. I hope they are caught soon and some sort of justice served!

Not odd.

statistically completely sensible assumption.
