Wouldn’t it be marvellous if .... Boris Johnson failed to win his own seat

It would make me very happy. He won 50% last time and Labour 40%

I've got my fingers crossed for just this outcome. People of Uxbridge, you know what to do!

LennyLady · 23/11/2019 19:42

I live in Uxbridge and I don't know a single person who is voting for him 🤞🏻

donotknowhownottomind · 23/11/2019 19:43

Labour members madly canvassing for that outcome.

donotknowhownottomind · 23/11/2019 19:44

And I also hope it happens.

HeddaGarbled · 23/11/2019 19:45

What happens if the leader of the winning party isn’t an MP?

NewNameGuy · 23/11/2019 19:46

Can you be pm if you're not an mp?

Hefzi · 23/11/2019 19:50

Could be the best thing to happen since Clegg lost his in 2017 Grin. New Statesman currently has it on possible but not likely though.

NameChangeNugget · 23/11/2019 19:52

He can’t be PM if he’s not an elected member.

However with odds shortening to 1/6 for Boris in Uxbridge and now with a 19% lead for the Conservatives, up 3% after last night, it’s highly unlikely that he’ll lose in Uxbridge

Hefzi · 23/11/2019 19:55

Hedda no- but if the Conservatives have the most seats (even if not an outright majority) they will still be forming a government. Wouldn't necessarily be a great outcome, in that case, as it would likely cause some paralysis, though presumably the Deputy Leader would assume the title if elected back to the Commons.

Lenny if the people you know didn't vote for him last time, that might not be much of a sign Grin

Katinski · 23/11/2019 20:47

That would be the stuff that dreams are made ofGrin

IpanemaGallina · 23/11/2019 20:49

Yes completely marvellous (please let it happen).

BackforGood · 23/11/2019 21:03

It would indeed, be marvelous EXCEPT if it left the vacant job of PM, to JRM Shock

AShaveAndAHarecutHalfPrice · 24/11/2019 07:26

I would quite like JRM to lose his seat too.

He had 53% to Labour’s 37%, so it would be quite the swing, but I can live in hope.
