I'm thinking of having this in my landing and hall. At the moment I have a really dark carpet that I hate and want something much lighter but not cream!

Still not working for me. Can you take a screenshot and upload that?

How strange! The second link is working for me this time!
I'm not on my phone at the moment so I'll have to come back.

I can't see either link but regardless, I think it would be mad to match it too "exclusively" as I'm guessing the carpet will far outlive your wall colours?
Get a carpet you love and suits the surrounding and then get the wall decor to tie in and compliment with it. The carpet is the main spendy thing that the most thought should go into, IMO, as it usually will last several redecorations and trend changes.

That is awesome wallpaper. Needs a fairly neutral carpet to go with it I'd say. Unless you are a maximalist then get a colourful runner for your stairs.

Moondancer73 · 23/11/2019 13:57

Is it a big hall, because that's a very bold wall paper. I'd definitely say you'd need a light carpet.

notacooldad · 23/11/2019 14:10

Thank you for posting a link that worked.
Yes that is the wallpaper and I will ( as always with my carpets) be going for a plain unpatterned one. It is a question of colour! Grey, light grey, beige, other?
I currently have a large orange geometric print that is very bold and I love it but it is time for a change!

Grey might look dated quite quickly because it's so popular at the moment but a 'natural' colour like beige will last longer and go with the yellow in the wallpaper. Or you could go for a blue/green? You'll just have to try lots of samples I think.

Span1elsRock · 23/11/2019 14:47

I'd pick out one of the wallpaper colours, like the olive green or the navy blue? Or use wood as in the photo? I think a neutral would look very wishy washy next to the vibrant colour.

Auberjean · 23/11/2019 14:51

I agree olive green, not too light.,

notacooldad · 23/11/2019 14:52

I would have never have thought about olive green!

Personally, if your not going for wood I would definitely stick to a light beige/wool/natural fiber type neutral color to offset the bold walls.
