What are you asking for for Christmas?

I am trying to not bring crap and clutter into the house....and my family don’t like giving vouchers at Christmas as there isn’t anything to open. I have asked for some wireless headphones And face cream but other than that I’m a bit stuck. DH and I don’t buy for each other, and we have 3 kids so this is my chance for something special for me as we don’t treat ourselves. And I’m lucky that I have lots of lovely family who are asking me! So I’m after some ideas! What are you hoping to get for Christmas?

Honestly, the only thing I like getting for Christmas is gift cards to my favourite coffeehouse that I go to 6/7 days a week. Not a fan of anything else.

SnuggyBuggy · 20/11/2019 09:17

I guess we are lucky in that some of our household items are knackered and broken so we have asked for gifts to replace them. Other family have asked for nice food.

Crackerofdoom · 20/11/2019 09:20

We are in exactly the same position. 3 kids and trying to be minimalist

Food. Nice versions of something you use every day so the treat lasts (think coffee, tea, chocolate etc.)

Tickets for something you would like to see

I like knitting so I have put some knitting related things on my wishlist

Don't be afraid to use a wishlist either. It makes it easier for people to buy for you knowing you will like what you get.

Can they club together and get you an overnight together somewhere? Maybe someone with less money could offer to take the kids as your gift?

We have 3 friends who are each taking one of our kids for a weekend of treats when I turn 40 so DH and I can have our first weekend away in a decade.

Gin
Anything from Hotel Chocolat
Nice nuts - the kind that you look at in the supermarket and think 'how much'?
Good medium weight walking socks

Sallycinammonbangsthedruminthe · 20/11/2019 10:14

Woodwick candles
pyjamas
perfume
smelly bath things
books
tickets for gigs
Is whats on my list but having said that I am a bit awkward to buy for as if I see something I want then I just usually buy it!

dollybird76 · 20/11/2019 10:37

Ditto on the reducing crap! We moved into a tiny house (small, not literally one of those tiny ones on wheels, ha) and I really don't want anything more coming into the house.

I'm just asking for Sephora vouchers, and candles. I'll be trying to give eco friendly gifts and keeping wrapping low key too.

whatsinthebagwhatcoulditbe · 20/11/2019 10:38

A yoga bolster
Line of Duty season 5 on DVD
New slippers

I haven't technically asked for these but have dropped some pretty heavy hints. Grin

MustardScreams · 20/11/2019 10:39

I’m getting new bedding. I know I’m a grown up now because I honestly can’t wait Grin

And cookbooks.

Shinyshoes2 · 20/11/2019 10:49

I want a new Micheal Kors purse and A Pinch of Nom cookbook

jellycatspyjamas · 20/11/2019 10:52

I cross stitch so I’ve asked for a particular pattern and silks which I’d never usually spend the money on myself.

TreacherousPissFlap · 20/11/2019 10:56

I'd like some AirPods, DS has a set and I'm secretly extremely jealous Grin

We can add them onto our phone contract so it won't even be a huge expense. It's the first time I've asked for something so ridiculously frivolous for years Grin

Bluewavescrashing · 20/11/2019 10:58

European mini break and flights ✈️ DH and I are giving it to each other instead of gifts.

pooopypants · 20/11/2019 11:43

Book vouchers? Could they club together and buy a kindle? Or just one voucher for your favourite place? Do you have hobbies?

antisupermum · 20/11/2019 11:53

I've asked my sister for a new purse. My sister has sent my dad a link for a bag she thinks I would like. So I would be very happy if I receive that also.

I always get slippers, new pyjamas, Ferrero Rocher (my fave). I really don't need much, I buy myself what I want through the years. Gift vouchers are always appreciated as cash tends to get swallowed up by mundane household things like petrol or takeaways.

Some nice ideas here..... but I have a pair of slippers I’ve had for years and don’t need a new pair. That’s the thing - I hate waste so end up using things to death before I want to repack. some of my own stuff (mainly clothes) is tatty and needs replacing, but my household goods and children’s stuff is lovely. But I don’t want to ask for clothes.....

Are you into flowers? What about a flower subscription for monthly flowers?

Smarshian · 20/11/2019 18:15

I’m asking for a new makeup bag, a chillys coffe cup, vouchers, a new work bag, lunch box/bag, hand cream.

tinyvulture · 20/11/2019 18:16

I’m trying to encourage dd to tell my boyfriend about a particular type of perfume I want. I have also hinted wildly at him myself about some kitchen stuff I would like (a good knife block and a nice quiche dish). No doubt, however, he will buy me gin and books (which luckily I also love......) 🤗
