Christmas trees and a crawling baby..?!

What is everyone else doing or have you done when baby is crawling and in to everything. Did you bother with a Christmas tree or skip a year?
I'd really like to have a tree up for babies first Christmas but I know he will constantly want to be pulling on top of himself and I'll spend the whole time dragging him away from it ..

We had a teeny mini fake one from paperchase up on the mantelpiece.

It wasn’t at all the same, but she’d have had an actual tree over multiple times a day.

We extended our dining table into the extra-long mode (table is in the living room) and put the tree on top of that.

I've also heard of people putting it inside a playpen.

Tree on a table.
Tree tethered to a nail banged into ceiling/wall architrave (no good if architrave is polystyrene!)
Playpen.

Additionally no breakables.

Christmas hit when DS was 9 months old and at the stage of pulling himself and everything. We just raised the tree up out of reach on a box, he soon realised he couldn’t reach and gave up.
