Toddler still very keen on nursing

She just turned two.

It is still her favourite thing to do with me. She’s asked to feed probably four times this evening, around dinner. I’m not offering - she’s asking.

... Her dad finishes work at a different time each day. Maybe she nurses when she is not sure what will happen when? I can try to be more regimented. :-/

Any other thoughts, I’d appreciate it! Long as it’s not to read someone like Gina Ford or the Baby Whisperer (BW)- I find them both a bit judgmental of anyone who habitually feeds on demand, which I did & still do at home.

BW’s assumption is that mums who feed into toddlerhood are doing it for themselves...

I personally would prefer not to be thirsty all the time. My daughter feels strongly about it though!

Awww. Completely normal. For a toddler- having Breastmilk isn’t the same as another drink- it’s comfort and nourishment in one. It’s a connection with you and a way of just helping her feel things are right with her little world.

Oh- tips? Distraction is your friend. And maybe start having set places to be allowed milk like bed or a specific chair but not at the table or out and about. If it suits you that is.

I would also say distraction and if that doesn’t work I’d assume she really needs the comfort and connection. It will likely change again in another few weeks.
