Can you use a shark vacuum on a shaggy rug?

I'm thinking of getting a soft shaggy rug for the living room, but I'm wondering whether it vacuuming with a shark (on carpet setting) would be a nightmare? I have an image of the threads getting wrapped around the spinny brush and descending into tangled mess.

Will it be ok? I'm sure I briefly saw a thread or review somewhere saying it's a nightmare on shaggy rugs but I can't find it now.

You can turn down the force of the suction. We've got a long rug and it does fine over that. I love our Shark. Best vacuum I've ever had

Does it still pick up ok? I find when it's on the hard floor setting, it can be a bit hit and miss even on full suction, but haven't tried a lower suction on carpet setting.

I ❤️❤️❤️❤️ my shark. You can adjust the suction easily and I use it in rugs . It brings the pile up something lovely.

Yes but put it on low or the red light on the base will turn on and the brushes won't spin.

Which sharks do you have?

I've bought 3. I've had the rocket, the lift away and the duo clean.

I prefer the lift away.

Buy direct from shark, they're cheaper than amazon although amazon give you the option to pay it up if you need to.

We’ve got the shark true pet and I find it works really well on our shaggy rugs. I use the thick pile setting on it.
