I catch every bug going. Mostly I power through them but I’m floored by this current one and feel dizzy, exhausted, aching all over blah blah blah - so sick of it! Angry

I’ve got out of the habit of exercising (although I walk quite a lot most days). I drink a lot of water. My sleep hygiene is terrible - I’m an inveterate night owl. I eat ok but don’t pay much attention to what I’m eating.

Perhaps I’d be sorted if I just went to bed at ten every night! Would love to know your recommendations Smile

Vitamins. Handwashing. Echinacea if you feel a bit off - I don't care if it is just a placebo, it makes me feel better. Keep away from people with obvious colds.

GoAndAskDaddy · 19/11/2019 18:57

High-dose vitamin d supplements. Not had a bad cold in ages.

AtrociousCircumstance · 19/11/2019 20:31

Thanks! So high dose vit D, echinacea...these are at the top of my shopping list...

Honestly, I think it's just luck. I literally never get sick, but don't do anything to deserve it. Don't take vitamins, only moderate hygiene, diet fairly mixed. Just the luck of the draw. That's just my opinion though.

Up your garlic intake
A bulb of garlic and a white onion...whizzed in blender, jar of organic honey and a whole lemon whizzed in
Have a couple of spoons to start them one an hour
Some people add turmeric..give it a go..I haven’t tried that one yet

AtrociousCircumstance · 19/11/2019 21:13

Aulwan I’m sure that’s part of the picture.

Dowser I will try that!

Do you get the flu jab? I pay for one and it gets me through winter with minor illnesses

AtrociousCircumstance · 19/11/2019 21:16

Does anyone think that mindset plays a part? Obviously stress does...can I meditate my way to having a stronger immune system? 🤞🏻

Ah I meant to get the flu jab but suddenly it’s mid November...! Once I feel better in a few days I’ll get one.

I too think it’s largely down to luck. Some people are just more susceptible. I work from home so escape a lot of the germs, I eat a ton of fruit and veg every day, exercise, don’t smoke, barely drink, haven’t been to a doctor in years and STILL I manage to get every cold doing the rounds and end up floored. So annoying!

Mylittlepony374 · 19/11/2019 21:23

Sambucol.

peachgreen · 19/11/2019 21:25

High dose vitamin D and a multivitamin. I notice a big difference.

stripeypillowcase · 19/11/2019 21:29

handwashing
diet
exercise (preferably outside)
sleep
vit d3 supplement

a visit to gp if it isn't getting better

AtrociousCircumstance · 19/11/2019 21:30

Ok Sambucol is now firmly on the Health List too!

peach I used to take vitamins but it tapered off when I felt well for ages...sigh! I do have a daily Berocca when I remember

lurking I hear you. So annoying isn’t it.
