Hopefully a nice light hearted thread to make us feel warm inside.

I’ll start:
“You’ll be in my heart” by Phil Collins. Reminds me of DD. I listened to that song a lot when I was pregnant with her and shortly after she was born. Makes me cry every time
I listen to it.
“Baby mine” from dumbo. Again after birth of DD I had PND so listened to it a lot to help me bond with her

Whose next?

Old Friends by Elbow reminds me of DH and how he supported me through bad times last year. Especially the lines:

You stuck a pin in the map I was in
You are the stars I navigate home by

Brothers in Arms, Dire Straits, my Dad requested it at his own funeral, he had 6 weeks when he knew there was no hope, it was a surprise to us, we didn't know he'd made plans. Breaks my heart every time I hear it.

For my nephew who died at a month old. It was a new song at the time and summed up exactly how we felt at the time. I still cry when singing it:

Blessed Be Your Name
In the land that is plentiful
Where Your streams of abundance flow
Blessed be Your name

Blessed Be Your name
When I'm found in the desert place
Though I walk through the wilderness
Blessed Be Your name

Every blessing You pour out, I'll
Turn back to praise
When the darkness closes in, Lord
Still I will say

Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your glorious name

Blessed be Your name
When the sun's shining down on me
When the world's 'all as it should be'
Blessed be Your name

Blessed be Your name
On the road marked with suffering
Though there's pain in the offering
Blessed be Your name

Every blessing You pour out I'll
Turn back to praise
When the darkness closes in, Lord
Still I will say

Blessed be the name of the Lord...

You give and take away
You give and take away
My heart will choose to say
Blessed be your name.

Coldplay Fix You
My ds was only around 2 years old but would light up when he heard this song. He was just starting his autism assessments at the time. He wouldn't recognise nursery rhymes so it was a huge deal that he had reaction to a song. Whenever I hear it now I think of him at that age and cry.

Everglow was just released when my MIL passed away and was played on repeat in the days leading up to her funeral.
