‘Cloudy’ glasses- can they be returned to original sparkle?

Dishwasher working fine.

Have tried remedy I saw online using vinegar and bicarbonate of soda (from rusty memory) but to no avail.

Is this just something that comes to all glasses in the end?

It's either limescale which can be removed or etching of the glass which cant

This is why I hand wash my glasses. Dishwashing makes them cloudy.

So for limescale, would I be OK to try my regular viakal cleaner or would that be too abrasive?
