This book quiz: please help meeeee

I can get 14 out of the 20 after a wee bit of googling some bits, but utterly stumped on:

The butcher's
The blue car
The girls on the swings
District of Columbia
Daisy and Coco in the chimney smoke
and the bee/level crossing sign.

Anyone far brighter than me please save my rattling little brain?

@Dragonfly It’s an old book - 50s/60s? It’s literally a description of what’s in the window, I assume the name of the butcher is a character in it?

DoC - think state associated with it, plus the colour of the sign.
Al's pharmacy - another word for pharmacy plus who owns it
Agnes' augeries - if you haven't read the book you won't get this, but there was a reason Amazon TV adaptation with a former Doctor...
The couple - what do their t-shirts say? Think of a synonym for those words, plus plural of a synonym for human...

Bird you need a nother word for pharmacy, and then stick it on the end of Al. It was tenuous as fuck!
