Just found out pregnant with a new job

I need some help and advice please.
I haven't been happy in my current job for some time so was applying for jobs and I came lucky to have been offered a job only 10 days ago, I went into work on 7 days ago with resignation, well today I have just found out I am pregnant so I am really worried now on whether I should take this job and wait or do I withdraw my notice with my employer with some excuse and then tell them after I've had my first scan. I am really baffled with this now.

I take it you wouldn't qualify for any maternity pay if you moved to the new employer? If that's the case you need to work out if you can afford to get by on maternity allowance only.

Otherwise, rescind your notice to your current employer (if they'll let you), but consider your mental health, and the fact you'd have to go back for a period of time after maternity leave in order to keep your maternity pay.

It's a horrid situation to be in. I was in a similar place earlier this year (I had a job offer a few days after finding out I was pregnant), but thankfully my new employer is very forward-looking and has qualified me for occupational maternity pay despite the fact I've only been with them for six months.
