Mothercare - Am I going to get my order?

I was given a Mothercare voucher when I went on maternity leave, and when they announced they were going into administration I thought I better get on and use it, so I ordered some clothes for DD via the website. I ordered and paid on the 6th November for delivery to the local shop, and the email said they would contact me when my order arrived. We're a week later nearly and the order is still showing on my account as preparing/delayed. So do we think I'm going to get my order? Or have I gambled and lost on the gift card, because they're in administration? Would they refund me? I don't exactly want another gift card if I can't use it. The website says they are working to dispatch orders asap, but I'm starting to wonder if realistically they might end up not filling my order, and if so I wonder what happens then. Is anyone else waiting for a Mothercare order this week?

Wouldn't you be best off ringing their customer service?

I will speak to customer services at some point, however in my experience they dont often know much more than what is already on the website, especially when the company has gone into administration. Plus I'm wondering if anyone else is in the same boat.

This is why it’s now not worth buying gift vouchers as no where is safe.

I recall when La Senza went down everyone lost their gift vouchers and placed orders so it doesn’t look good for you I’m afraid...

I have been told by a friend of a friend who is (was) a MC manager that the dispatch company they use are holding orders as they haven't been paid, or need assurance that they will be paid or something. It should be resolved at some point.

She's had some awful abuse from customers who don't apparently realise that she can't do a thing about it and give zero shits that she's just been told she's lost her job.

That was what I'd heard about gift vouchers when other stores had gone bust too @what, which is why I wasn't sure what might happen.

The info about orders being held makes sense, I don't really want to pester customer service reps who are probably worried about their own jobs at the moment too. I suppose I will just have to be patient.

The sad thing is I wouldn't have shopped there if not for this gift voucher, I have 2 kids and have never bought anything for them from mothercare until now. I'm sadly not surprised they are going under.

I placed an order and paid by debit card last week. Item arrived today so 2 days ahead of estimated delivery date

I've had the same - ordered two items on the 1st and it says delayed. Will give it until Friday and then call them if no change, I at least want my money back!

I ordered something before they made their announcement, delivery was due between the 7th and 11th but then got delayed. I emailed them on Sunday had a response the next day and my parcel was delivered yesterday so fingers crossed for you!

I'm in exactly the same position. Phoned customer services who said there was a delay but that was a week and a half ago!

Nothing yet. I have emailed, tweeted, and direct messaged on Twitter, all at least twice, no response to any of it. I've not tried calling yet because I'm seeing stories of people being on hold for hours, but I will try that tomorrow. I did see a reply from mothercare to someone else on Twitter saying they were no longer accepting gift vouchers and referring the holder to the administrators. So I suspect I'll be writing this one off. Which will be annoying but not as bad as being a mothercare employee losing your job just before Christmas I suppose.

Well exciting news, I have an email saying my order is ready for collection!!! Fingers crossed its correct, we will find out tomorrow :) I'm stunned!

Yay! I ordered something 3 days before they announced administration. I phoned the store 10 days after I ordered as it still said pending on the website. They didn't have it in and I was told there was a delay with orders because of what was happening. Well a week or so later I got the email it was in, and indeed it was. A bit late as we were already on holiday so couldn't use the swimsuit but we've got it now anyway!
