Would like to cook a roast dinner for 8 adults (one vegan) tonight. What do you normally cook?

We are having roast chicken, stuffing, Yorkshire puds, cauliflower cheese, mash, roast parsnips and green beans .And gravy. You can probably tell we are not vegan!

Roast beef but we have it at 12 not in the evening. Roast potatoes, cauliflower, carrots, peas, broccoli, sprouts, cabbage.

We are having a roasted gammon with maple/mustard glaze, cauliflower cheese with lots of sauce, carrots, peas, and roast potatoes.

Last weekend I did chicken roasted with lemon, garlic & thyme, Sausages in bacon, potatoes roasted with rosemary & garlic, carrots & edamame beans. Vegetarians had quiche with the vegetables. (No vegans present.) Followed by pumpkin pie with vanilla ice cream.

If I had to do that I would make a load of veg sides that are all vegan, and meat for the rest.

Roast pork (non-vegan)

And then cooked in oil, maybe with some vegan cheese/yeast flakes:
Parsnips
Carrots
Roasties
Roast broccoli
Apple sauce

Waitrose do a good vegan nut roast. Or do a couple of vegan sausages.

SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 10/11/2019 10:19

I’d make sure the roast potatoes and all the side dishes are vegan-friendly, then do roast chicken for the meat eaters, and some sort of veggie tart or nut roast for the vegan. Or if you want an easier option, shop-bought sausages or a mini pie or something. Bisto is vegan (the original one).

We’re actually having a vegetable biryani for our Sunday dinner tonight, but presumably that’s not the kind of thing you’re looking for Grin

I’m cooking roast chicken but dh is vegetarian so I’m making
Roast chicken
Roast potatoes
Yorkshire pudding
Pigs in blankets
Stuffing
Carrots
Broccoli cheese
Peas
Savoy cabbage
Sprouts
Gravy

Dh can eat everything apart from the chicken, gravy and PiG but he’s happy with that......
My family love Sunday roast but it’s a lot of work so I put my iPad on and drink wine 🤣🤦🏻‍♀️

We’re having roast pork with crackling, roast spuds, carrots, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower cheese, mashed sweede and gravy. Pudding is frangipane and pear tart with custard. I really enjoy a Sunday morning prepping it all in the kitchen. We’re just off to the War Memorial service and I’ve already prepped the veg and set the dining room table. DMIL and her lovely NDN are joining us (they’ll be tipsy on dry sherry by 1pm 😂😂).

Can't help with vegan but in the winter I do beef, yorkies, goose fat roasties, honey roasted carrots and parsnips, and cabbage.

FranklySonImTheGaffer · 10/11/2019 10:31

Pork
Roast potatoes
Potato, swede & carrot mash
Red cabbage with cranberry
Carrots
Sweet corn
Tender stem Broccoli
Stuffing
Gravy

I may also do stuffing because I fancy some today.
