Have you had your teeth fixed? Experiences etc...

I have wonky teeth. A big overbite. It’s shit.

I try to hide them at all times, I never smile with my mouth open.
I’m sure people must talk about them or wonder why I don’t smile.

Anyway, I’ve always avoided the dentist as I am ashamed of them.

I’m late 30s and it’s time to stop being a wimp and do something about it.

Can anyone who has maybe been in a similar position to me who got them fixed give me advice/ experiences etc?

Thank you in advance. This is my first step.

I would just check with the dental surgery OP - I see a private dentist and a checkup will be a standard dental health check, at mine you pay separately for a 'consultation' for cosmetic dentistry- the dentist will then tell you what can be done and costings before you proceed.

If it has been some time since you have seen a dentist I would imagine you may be in need of fillings, hygienist cleaning (this will be an additional charge). The cost of those privately is fairly high; I think at my clinic a white filling is about £100 per filling, hygienist appt with scale and polish is £60 so I'd keep nagging that NHS dentist if you can to save money for the cosmetic work. Call for cancellations etc.

Go abroad. My doctor friend went to Budapest and had implants veneers and a bridge and was half price to the UK and excellent work. I went to Colombia for my teeth , dentist trained in USA spoke English but I speak Spanish anyway...I had crowns done for £40 , veneers and white fillings etc.. also excellent quality. Even Spain has better work and prices better than here. The UK , even private dentist, is way behind in technology etc than east Europe and s America.
