I went back to work recently after a period as a SAHM, retraining for a professional job. I needed to rekit myself out a bit for going back to work and made a decision I would buy a few high quality pieces that would last for work wear.
I decided Jaeger would be a good place to start because I know my Mum used them before she retired and always said Jaeger were the go to shop for high quality, long lasting professional wear. So I ordered a dress and cardigan from them.
When the arrived they really weren’t the quality I was expecting. The cardigan was like Bon Marche but not that nice, cheap man made fibres. The dress was a bit nicer but not very flattering and certainly not worth the money. LK Bennett, Hobbs and Boden do far nicer designs and better quality for the same or less. So I bundled them up, unworn with tags on and returned them and thought no more about it until the refund didn’t come. I emailed them a couple of times asking about it with no response.
Then yesterday I received the garments back with a letter telling me that I would not be getting a refund because the clothes were ‘badly creased’ and ‘had white fluff on’. I was absolutely flabbergasted. Of course clothes which are ordered online get creased in transit. That’s something taken for granted and even bottom end retailers like BooHoo have a clothes press for returns. And white fluff - I don’t know what that is, but they’ve returned the garments to me and they’re absolutely immaculate.
