Where could I go that would have a good range of Docs to try on?
I can get to Brum/Merry Hell/Touchwood

There's a Dr Martens shop in the bullring, I think that's your best bet.

Nat6999 · 08/11/2019 01:55

Sole Trader do a good online range.

pollywobble · 08/11/2019 02:02

Thanks both. I need to try some on as I've got wide feet. The Bullring sounds like a good first step

Nostalgia! I remember getting my first pair of Docs in the old Bull Ring market. Does Oasis market still exist opposite the Square Peg? They would have them in there.

pollywobble · 08/11/2019 03:04

@Palavah I loved mooching a patchouli-oil drenched Oasis in my 20s.
I rarely go to Brum now, Google tells me there is still an Oasis on New Street

Yes, Oasis is still in the same place and just as it ever was!

pollywobble · 09/11/2019 02:27

Excellent,it looks like I'm having a trip to the Bullring then Oasis. 😊

The normal style are shit for wide feet. I find them far too narrow and the stitching at the bottom of tongue too tight.
Aimilita are great. The new Vaux have a wider more wide, shape foot.

pollywobble · 10/11/2019 01:36

That's useful to know @Whatsnewpussyhat

I'm an EEE/EEEE fitting with some spasticity which makes my foot twist under.I end up in crocs in summer and old walking boots in the Winter. The Crocs are not by choice!

I was wondering whether the men's styles might be wider

The unisex styles are all tight on my fat feet. Never tried mens ones.
Worth trying on while you're there.

The hard leathers don't have much give in.

pollywobble · 12/11/2019 02:27

@Whatsnew , I'm not feeling that positive about it but it's worth a try. I hate trying to find shoes!
