Things to do near Scarborough with a toddler in November

Morning Scarborough/North Yorkshire mumsnetters 😊

It's our last full day in Scarborough with our two year old today - on holiday, we usually live in London.

We have been to Scarborough seaside (north and south bays) so we have seen Peasholm Park and Sea Life plus Alpamare. Went to Flamingo Land yesterday.

Are there any hidden gems that only locals know? If so, please share! Weather isn't looking great so need one or two places to go to keep the little one and us entertained! We don't mind being outdoors and would prefer to stay away from soft plays unless there are any extra amazing ones!

Lots of things nearby are closed for the season now so we are running out of ideas 😊

Thanks all!

Train to York?

Or drive to York - it's an hour away...Park and Ride in. Lots to do there.

Is the NYMR (steam railway) closed now?

Dalton Forest, near Pickering has lots of walking and cycling trails and a cafe. And a Zog trail. We did a buggy walk there last week, as my toddler can't walk too far yet. Be warned though, it's expensive parking!

Dalby forest is lovely. Near Pickering.

Or train to York or Hull.
