Lisa needs to be careful his public relations lot have held back until now if it goes to court she will lose control of the narrative. I do not think she is as pure as driven snow and stuff will come out that will hurt her.

I don't think they've held back at all. Some of the stories about her in the press have been incrediably unkind, whilst Ant has been protrayed as some poor soul who went a bit off the rails and has now sorted himself out.

There's very much a feeling that she should just take the pay off, shut up and go away. But why should she? I think most women would be gutted if they found out their husband has been shagging a colleague for years and using prostitues.. (allegedly of course).

SpiderCharlotte · 10/11/2019 13:14

Both Lisa and Ant were known for being big party animals, and both very heavy drinkers. I think when Ant realised he had a problem he had no choice but to make that break from her to get himself sober and healthy.

Agreed.

VanyaHargreeves · 10/11/2019 17:07

With Ant and Lisa I think this was another case if you look back at the articles pre-split and in particular photographs of them/her where plenty of newspapers were indicating the reality without stating it

Holdingtherope · 10/11/2019 17:09

What do you mean vanya

VanyaHargreeves · 10/11/2019 17:14

I think earlier in the thread we talked about how the Daily Fail in particular write articles with the appearance of being about one thing but actually trying to say something else in a (nudge, wink) style

SunsetBoulevard3 · 10/11/2019 17:20

I don't think Jl's son looks anything like PP..

ManonBlackbeak · 10/11/2019 17:38

The Daily Mail, and The Sun actually will often print really random articles about people in the public eye when there is something going on that they aren't allowed to report on.

So for example as mentioned above stuff about Ant and his wife, The Beckhams, William and Kate, thats just off the top of my head.

It does make you wonder though how some people get away with it and then you get people like say, The Rooney's, who don't.

slippyfeet · 10/11/2019 18:22

@ManonBlackbeak I would imagine they get away with it if a judge grants them a super injunction and they don't get away with it if they don't!

Letstalkabout6 · 10/11/2019 20:03

@ManonBlackbeak from what I know certain celebs give stories about others to the press to keep stories about themselves out of the papers. That certainly was the case for a certain big eared football presenter.

SureTry · 10/11/2019 20:45

I always thought that about the story of Vernon Kay sexting some model quite suspect, like it wasn't the true story but the one that they agreed to put out to cover the real dirt.

RunningNinja79 · 10/11/2019 21:23

Finally caught up.

So how do we know what the Sun and Fail are really saying then?

MoreProseccoNow · 10/11/2019 21:25

His career has gone down the pan a bit in recent years, hasn't it?

Whereas, Tess's has gone onwards & upwards.

ManonBlackbeak · 10/11/2019 22:13

What usually happens is they will have lots of really random stories suddenly pop up about the same person, just really mundande stuff 'so and so went to the shops with their partner' or something like that. Not even news worthy stuff much of the time. Its especially obvious when its people who don't usually court the media like Frosty with his 'bodyguard'.

SheStoopsToConker · 10/11/2019 22:15

Well there was that sudden spurt of stories about how the Duchess of Cambridge had a "rural rival" and had fallen out with said rival...

Grammy78 · 10/11/2019 22:26

If someone has an injunction in place they also post lots of random articles about them to show that it’s in the public interest to reveal what they’re trying to hide as they’re always in the media.

ConfCall · 10/11/2019 23:48

I remember when the story about the actor and S&M pristutute was being covered up, there was an innocuous looking article about his being out for a walk wearing a spanking new jacket (or something like that).

VanyaHargreeves · 10/11/2019 23:54

That's certainly what happened with Hugh Bonneville

A lot of stuff is like :

The Nick Grimshaw jumper story upthread.

Describing someone as a "family man"

Describing someone as "worse for the wear"

Describing a married woman as "cutting a lonely figure"

Sagradafamiliar · 11/11/2019 11:06

I can't believe people think Ant looks better 'now that he's sorted himself out after realising he had a problem'. He was publicly outed as having a problem when he crashed his car and had to be seen to address it or lose his career. He still looks like he's on a shockingly bad comedown when he's on TV and that's with the lighting and makeup. Like he's never slept.

Lisa can conduct herself how she likes during the divorce as far as I'm concerned. Divorces are SHIT regardless of how onlookers would like them to be neat and tidy and cut and dry. Keep the 'she's not moving on' comments until after it's final at least.

PinkJam · 11/11/2019 15:44

@Sagradafamiliar I agree, Ant doesn’t look better and he just wants to brush over everything.

And to be honest I can understand why Lisa is finding it difficult - not only has she recently come out of a very long marriage, but the woman she welcomed into her home and confided in has betrayed her along with her husband. Lisa is very strong dealing with all this, especially having to do so in the public eye.

twinkledag · 11/11/2019 18:04

SIL's colleague's daughter was getting married in high profile building. A certain person's son was coming up to 13- and he/they desperately wanted the same venue. Chappie approached colleague via the venue and after some backwards and forwards offered to pay for the wedding elsewhere and also paid off daughter's mortgage if they would give up their 'slot'. Practically took his hand off!

This is an urban myth.

maidenover · 11/11/2019 18:08

The celeb paying off a mortgage to take a venue is totally an urban myth. When The Open was in Northern Ireland this year I lost count of the number of locals who had not only had their mortgages paid off by the Beckhams but also their entire houses redecorated, complete with new furniture. I don’t believe there were any actual sightings of them once the event came around 😂

elmosducks · 11/11/2019 18:36

There is an article in the Fail today about Denise Welsh, and then the timeline for Camilla and Charles marriage/divorces etc...

Subtle hint?

Sarcelle · 11/11/2019 18:44

Eh @elmosducks?

What's the subliminal hint there?

Max Clifford said that he was famous for PR but actually people came to him to cover up or stop stories reaching the media. Although he didn't do too well with his own cover up!

I wonder who the go to person is now?

elmosducks · 11/11/2019 18:58

@Sarcelle, read the article.

QueenOfTheAndals · 11/11/2019 19:26

That's hardly subliminal!
