Kids passports on the gov.uk website checker

Got a holiday booked for Aug 2020. Mine and the kids passports are valid until July 2021, DH Oct 2021. Checked them on the gov.uk passport valid to travel site (in event of no deal etc) and it appears that the kids can’t travel beyond 30 April 2020 even though they have another 14 months left on them?! Mine and DHs are valid till Jan 2021. Has this happen to anyone else? And why are kids passports being cut short?

Did you renew them early the last time you got them? I know they used to add up to 9 months on but they don't do that anymore.

You're not travelling for at least 9 months. Check nearer the time. Anything could change if/when we ever Brexit.
