How long for fleas to die on a dog after treatment?

My dog picked up fleas recently, only found 2 on her but obviously panicking!
I treated her 2 days ago but today after checking for ages I found 1 live flea on her!!!

Why is this? Has the treatment not worked or does it take a while????

Frontline isnt very good.

I have a cat but you can get flea tablets for both. They kill all the live ones on them within 24 hours then you can put a repellant on. I would advise one from the vet.

The flea tablets are johnsons 4fleas. About £5 for 4 I think

Doesn't the treatment just make them jump off and die of lack of food.?

I only say this 'cos all fleas love me - human, dog, cat and I know a flea collar has worn out when I start getting bitten.

Get a proper flea treatment from the vet. Over the counter ones are pretty rubbish. Also look online at the life cycle of a flea....it'll surprise you!
